Troop 7 is an aquatics based troop. Many of our activities are centered around sailing, swimming, canoeing, fishing and other water based activities.

History of Troop 7

Troop 7 was charted in 1917. We are one of the first troops organized in the Land of Lincoln. For nearly 90 years, Troop 7 was at Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Springfield, just one block from Lincoln’s home.

Troop 7 is open to all boys age 11 to 18 to explore the outdoors, and grow as young men. Growth and maturity is achieved through a variety of activities and adventures with adult leader oversight.

In scouting, the Scouts set the program and run the meetings. At the same time, Troop 7 encourages parental and adult involvement in guiding the young men through the program. Parents are welcome at all activities.
