Welcome Pastor Uden

On July 1 we welcome Pastor Lee Uden who joins our Staff here at St. John’s as part-time Visitation Pastor. Pastor Uden will be working approximately 10 hours per week and preaching on an occasional basis. His primary focus will be shut-in ministry and visitation along with follow-up on members who are discharged from a hospital.

Pastor Uden served in a variety of settings in parish ministry in Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska and most recently in Quincy, IL. He also served as an Assistant to the Bishop of the Northern Illinois Synod in previous years.

We welcome Pastor Lee and Linda Uden to St. John’s. Please give them the opportunity to know your name as you meet and greet them.

Sunday School

Thank you to the many volunteers who have been part of our Sunday School program this year! We appreciate your many gifts and talents, and are grateful for your commitment to the children and youth of St. John’s. In addition, thank you to the many Sunday School students who attended class this year. Please mark your calendars for Rally Day, which will be Sunday, September 12. Remember to let the light of Christ shine through you this summer!

Sprout!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our spring session of Sprout! This session concluded on Wednesday, May 12. Enjoy the summer, and we’ll look forward to seeing you when we resume Sprout! in September.

Christcare Informational Session

Could God be calling you to be a ChristCare Group Leader? Would you like to learn more about what ChristCare Group Leaders do? Join us for light refreshments at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12 as some of our ChristCare Leaders share information about St. John’s ChristCare Group Ministry. Small groups are an essential component of all congregations, especially ones the size of ours! Prayerfully consider what your role in ChristCare Group Ministry might be. Friends In Christ

The Friends in Christ small group meets on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. in the church parlor. All women are invited to join this fun group! For more information, contact Evelyn Lageman at 793-3356.

Men's Bible Class

The Tuesday morning Men’s Bible Study has concluded for the summer. This group will reconvene on Tuesday, August 3 at 9:00 a.m. in the Parlor. Have a safe and restful summer, and then join us in August as we grow together in our faith!

Hungry? Join Us For R.I.B.S.

You are invited to join the R.I.B.S. “Rejoicing In Bible Study” group as we begin a new study on the Gospel of Luke. We meet on Thursday afternoons at 2:00 in the Adult Meeting Room. Everyone is encouraged to join this friendly group.

Women's Bible Study

The Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study will not meet during the month of July. We will resume with a new topic in August.
