Cookies For The Work Of Christ A Huge Success
You couldn’t miss the smell of fresh cookies that filtered up the stairs
and throughout the church on Palm Sunday. The St. John’s Sunday school
children brought in cookies and baked cookies for a good cause. A big
thank you goes to Becky Straley for her hard work, and for contacting
Mercy House and Ronald McDonald House. They each sent a representative
to collect the donated cookies. The big surprise was the arrival of Ronald
McDonald himself to accept the donations. The four year old class brought
the most cookies, 440, and made the presentations.
At last count we donated over 1400 or 116 dozen cookies, for the ‘Work of Christ’. In addition to Mercy House and the Ronald McDonald House, cookies went to St. John’s Breadline, Grace Food Pantry, Sojourn House and Capitol Health Care. There were very much appreciated.
A big thank you to the cooks in the kitchen, the cookie counters, and to all the children of St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday School. Good job!
