Children and Family Ministry believes that parents are the best faith teachers their children will ever have! St. John's is dedicated to partnering with and equipping parents and caregivers to inspire children to know God’s love and grace. We aim to teach, model, and share Jesus Christ with all children and their families through worship, study, prayer, and service. We are better when we do life together!

Safety

All our volunteers receive a background check and must complete our Safeguarding God's Children volunteer class. This class equips leaders and assistants in best practices for interacting with and ministering to your children. We want to provide your children with a safe, caring environment at all times.

Nursery

A staffed nursery is available during all four weekend worship services for children ages four and younger. The Nursery is also available during the Wednesday Sprout! ministry and Thursday Choir rehearsals, as well as other special ministry events. The Nursery is located near the Parish Life Center Lobby across from the restrooms.

children's ministry

We offer a variety of ministry events for children and their families throughout the year. Most of our events are open to children in preschool through 6th grade. Friends and family are always welcome to join. Sunday School follows our church program calendar from September to May.

preteen ministry

Our preteen ministry combines energetic activities with biblical lessons, and sometimes we have social events like a good old ice cream social! This ministry is geared toward children in grades 5-6, and kids are always encouraged to invite their friends.

Garden Ministry & Dinners on the Lawn

At St. John's, we have the wonderful opportunity to nurture God's earth as we tend to our very own garden! We invite all families to help us water, weed, and harvest the garden after our Dinner on the Lawn picnics on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. No experience needed to help in the garden! We will teach you what you need to know. Picnics will begin at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday beginning June 6. Bring a side dish or dessert to share!
