Isaiah 40:28-31 (ESV)

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
    his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
    and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
    and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.

Do you ever get caught up in your busy life and find yourself

doing it all alone? Stressed out, sleep deprived, anxious, and

overwhelmed . . . we all find ourselves there at one point or

another. Some of us find ourselves there all the time! But we

have to remember that God is there by our side, ready to give us

the power to move forward. We just have to remember to call on

him, and not to go it alone.

Like a battery that needs to be recharged, we need God to help

fuel us. He knows what we need and when we need it. Unlike

us, He is everlasting and doesn’t wear down. We just have to

remember to count on him, and not carry on our crazy lives all

Isaiah 40:28-31 is one of those passages that we read and think,

“Oh yeah, I know that!” But when it comes to living, we get so

caught up in the rush of “now” that we don’t remember to

actually LIVE these passages. It is so easy to get our momentum

up and going, thinking we can do it all on our own, but really,

we don’t have to—and we shouldn’t—do it alone. God is

everlasting. His strength will help us through every obstacle.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to remember that we are not

alone. You are always there to give us strength and assurance

when we need it. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
