We will host a Taize Prayer service, an ecumenical Christian prayer service, in the Sanctuary. Members of four Springfield churches (Christ the King Catholic, Laurel United Methodist, St. John’s Lutheran, and Westminster Presbyterian) are participating in this service of contemplative prayer, simple songs, and lighting of candles. Along with choir members from all four churches, instrumentalists from the churches and community will also participate in this service to foster peace and reconciliation, with meditative common prayer as the conduit. May we learn to pray together in larger community and seek to truly know and love our neighbors. Please stay after the service to share a cup of tea and fellowship. Members of the Chancel Choir will also participate in a similar Taize service, hosted by Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 1930 Barberry Drive, on Tuesday, March 6 at 6 pm. All are invited to attend.
