Financial Administrator

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Administrator serves as the administrator of the financial management of the congregation, per the direction of the Finance Committee, Leadership Board, and Lead Pastor.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manages the financial operations of the congregation, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, preparation of applicable payroll taxes, preparation of quarterly and annual taxes in accordance with federal and state guidelines, insurance, monthly financial reports to the finance committee, and annual financial reports to the congregation, per the policies and procedures set by the Finance Committee and Leadership Board.

  • Manages the church bank accounts, credit card accounts, investment accounts, and store accounts to update users, review credit limits, and review for accuracy of usage and fees, per the policies and procedures set by the Finance Committee and Leadership Board.

  • Manages the monthly bank reconciliations, financial reports, investment reports, and other reports needed for monthly Financial Committee and Leadership Board review and approval. In addition, provides financial reports to Vision Teams and Ministry Teams as requested.

  • Manages the administration of compensation and benefits for church staff, per the policies and procedures set by the Personnel Committee and Leadership Board.

  • Serves as an advisory member of the Finance Committee and attends monthly Finance Committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in finance and accounting required. CPA preferred.

  • Experience in managing payroll and employee benefits.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with financial management software.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Ability to pass a thorough background check, credit check, and reference verification check.
