2026 APPLICATION

Applications for St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Endowment Funds shall be submitted in writing using the printed form, or below electronic form. Applications shall be reviewed by the Endowment Committee. 

Thank you for your interest in applying for funding from the St. John’s Eagle Endowment Fund. The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to support projects and ministries that have a lasting impact and advance the mission of our church. Endowment funds are intended for special initiatives rather than routine operating expenses. 

The Mission of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is 
to be and make disciples for Christ in response to God’s grace. 


PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION: 

  • COMPLETE THE APPLICATION IN FULL. Applications must be submitted in writing. 

  • DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED:

    • Explain the purpose of the request

    • Identify who will benefit

    • Describe how the project will benefit the congregation or community beyond the initial investment

    • Indicate whether ongoing maintenance or future funding will be required 

  • INCLUDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION.

    • One or more letters of reference from a leader of the applying entity, someone with an impact story about the entity, or someone who has a stake in the project or ministry detailed in this grant application

    • A budget detailing the total project cost, and listing any other funding sources

    • Relevant plans, drawings, or proposals, if applicable 

  • OBTAIN REQUIRED APPROVALS.

    • Where applicable, we require the entity have approved the project or ministry before submitting an application for Eagle Endowment funds 

  • REVIEW PROCESS. The Eagle Endowment Committee will review all applications based on:

    • Alignment with the church’s mission

    • Availability of endowment funds

    • Long-term benefit

    • Financial responsibility

    • Feasibility of the project 

  • AWARD NOTIFICATION. Applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision, whether or not Eagle Endowment funds have been awarded, by early December.

I agree that if I am awarded a grant from this Endowment program, I will utilize these funds only for the purpose that was outlined in the application that I submitted to the Endowment Committee. I also give the Endowment Committee permission to have the information submitted in this application to be reviewed by the committee members and Leadership Board, and give permission to the Endowment Committee to publicly acknowledge me as a grant recipient, should a grant be awarded to me.
