Children and Family Ministry believes that parents are the best faith teachers their children will ever have! St. John's partners with parents and caregivers as they teach, model, and share Jesus Christ with their children and family. We are better when we do life together!
All our volunteers receive a background check and must complete our Safeguarding God's Children volunteer class. This class equips leaders and assistants in best practices for interacting with and ministering to your children. We want to provide your children with a safe, caring environment at all times.
Our Holy Week Family Festival will be on Saturday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m. We will meet in the Parish Life Center (PLC) for a group opening and crafts, and we will finish the event with an Easter egg hunt on the lawn! Everyone is welcome. More even details are listed below.
Preschool-6th grade meet in the Parish Life Center at 9:15 a.m. during the school year for an energetic, fun opening. Following the opening, classes continue downstairs until 10:15 a.m.

Each Whirl Lectionary lesson follows a four-part sequence: Welcome, Hear, Respond, and Launch (WHRL!). Kids and leaders dive into the Whirl Story Bible or Whirl NRSV Bible, respond to the scripture lesson with creative leaflet activities, and circle up to review the lesson and pray before being sent out.

On Wednesday evenings this Lenten season, Kindergarten-2nd graders will learn The Lord's Prayer, and 3rd-6th graders will study Exodus in small groups. Parents are encouraged to join our Adult Small Group study titled "It Is Finished."

A staffed nursery is available during all four weekend worship services for children ages four and younger. The Nursery is also available during the Wednesday Sprout! ministry and Thursday Choir rehearsals, as well as other special ministry events. The Nursery is located near the Parish Life Center Lobby across from the restrooms.
holy week family festival

As we prepare for Holy Week together, we hope to spark some family conversations about Jesus' final days on earth. This event begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Life Center (PLC). We will hear a Pastor's message, create a family craft, and wrap up with an Easter egg hunt!
Vacation Bible School
4 year olds to those who have just completed 4th grade are encouraged to join us for our Shipwrecked VBS this summer, July 9-13 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Registration will open in May 2018. Stay tuned for more information!
