All our volunteers receive a background check and must complete our Safeguarding God's Children volunteer class. This class equips leaders and assistants in best practices for interacting with and ministering to your children. We want to provide your children with a safe, caring environment at all times.
We love having children in worship! And we want parents to feel comfortable worshiping with their children in all of our services. We also understand that sometimes parents worry about disruptions. Our non-staffed nursery is open to you and your child(ren) on Sunday mornings. Service will now be live-streamed into the nursery allowing you to easily follow along and rejoin whenever you feel ready. And, you won’t miss out on anything that happens while you’re out! The Nursery is located near the Parish Life Center Lobby across from the restrooms.

All children ages 4 through 6th grade are welcome to join us for Sunday School! We start together downstairs in Classrooms C/D for an opening and then the children will rotate through 3 rotations to interactively learn about the day’s Bible story! Contact Sarah with any questions!

Letters have been mailed out with all the details of our First Communion classes. Our first class begins on Wednesday, April 30 at 6:00 in the Meeting Room. If your child did not receive a letter and you are interested in enrolling in these classes, please contact Sarah or one of the pastors!

Calling all 5th and 6th graders! We will be meeting on Sunday, May 4 for Youtherans LITE! We will dive into the Lord’s prayer and discuss a different version of it. Then, we’ll hit the Ga-ga court for a few rounds of Ga-ga ball! Hope to see you all there!
Our last youth group will be Sunday, May 18. More details to come soon!
CLASSES
Each fall all of our 3rd graders are invited to attend Bible Class! St. John’s Disciple, Jennifer Read, does an amazing job teaching the bible to our children. This class meets for a few months. If you would like your child to be a part of this class and did not receive a letter, please reach out to Sarah Hembrook at shembrook@stjohns-springfield.org.
