If you will not be spending Christmas Day with family or friends, please join us for Christmas dinner at St. John’s! Ham, turkey, dinner rolls, and beverages will be provided. You are invited (but not required) to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

• 10:00 a.m. Christmas Day Worship.

• Appetizers will be served right after worship.

• Meal will begin at NOON.

• Guests are welcome to stick around after dinner to visit and/or play board games until about 3:00 p.m.

Sunday School Christmas Program MANDATORY DRESS Rehearsal

10:00-11:00am in the PLC

We will be holding a mandatory dress rehearsal for all children participating in the Christmas program. The dress rehearsal will take place on Saturday, December 13th from 10-11:00. Please make every effort to have your child in attendance! They will receive their costume for the program, and we’ll be running through it from start to finish! If there is a conflict, please let me know ASAP.

• Choose where you want to Volunteer! 

  • SET-UP ELVES - Come on Friday afternoon (Dec. 5) to transform the welcome center into Santa’s workshop, decorate the tables for breakfast and set up the crafts and games.

  • CLEAN-UP ELVES - After Santa leaves for the North Pole, help put everything back for worship the next day.

  • FOOD ELVES - Help with Breakfast in the Kitchen. 

  • CRAFT ELVES - Make fun things with the kids to take home. 

  • GAME ELVES - Play games with the kids

  • SHOPPING ELVES - Help the kids purchase and wrap presents for their family in Santa’s Christmas Store.

  • SANTA’S ELVES - Willing to help wherever Santa needs them.

Join us for our Thanksgiving worship event at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23. We will offer thanks for God’s many blessings, especially the gift of time spent together as a community of disciples. We will meet in the sanctuary for worship, and as true disciples in motion, we will make our way to the Welcome Center for an extension of our worship, and finally, we will conclude the evening in the Parish Life Center as we enjoy some delicious pie! Don’t miss this opportunity to receive grace, offer gratitude, and eat pie!

Youtherans Lite 80's Movie Night!
Friday, November 14 | 7:00-9:00pm

HEY YOU GUYS!!!! 5th-8th graders mark your calendars NOW for our 80s night at the movies! Get comfy in some pajamas or dress like it’s the 80s while we watch The Goonies in the PLC! Popcorn and candy will be provided, but feel free to bring your own snack and drinks, too!

Parents, I will need a volunteer to be present at this event with me, so please reach out if you’re interested!

Mark your calendars now for our annual Trunk or Treat event happening on Wednesday, October 29th from 5-7! You won’t want to miss it! We will have Hotdogs, Chips, Fire Truck, and Trunks FULL of candy!

Get ready for our monthly potluck, 5th-12th grade families! We ask that YOU bring your favorite casserole or crockpot dish this month and we will provide sides and desserts! Activity to be announced soon!

Attention 5th-12th grade families! Our family potlucks will begin again on Sunday, September 28 at 5:15pm in the Parish LIfe Center! Stay tuned for details on what we’ll be serving and what activity we will be doing!

Attention 5th and 6th graders! Our first meeting will take place on Sunday, September 14 from 6:30-7:30 in Classrooms C/D! You won’t want to miss out on the fun, fellowship, and learning! See you then! 

Third Grade Bible Class will begin on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room. All 3rd graders will be receiving a letter in the mail with details. If you have a child who you would like to attend these classes, and you did not receive a letter, please reach out to Sarah Hembrook at shembrook@stjohns-springfield.org.

Put on your FUN SHOES (wear fun/wacky shoes/footwear!) and get ready to be Disciples in Motion on Rally day! There will be fun activities for all ages, including shoe decorating, a cake walk, shoe bingo/scavenger hunt, Time & Talent sheets, coloring pages, Sunday School registration, and more! 

DISCIPLES IN MOTION WALL 
Everyone will get a shoe cut-out when they come in and will be encouraged to answer: "As a Disciple at St. John's, what are you looking forward to?" and put it on the north wall of the Welcome Center. 

Our Nursery will be staffed 9:30-10:45am for 3 year olds and under! They will enjoy foot books and fun coloring pages! 

Sunday School Registration will take place from 9:30-10:45am on Rally Day - September 7 - in the Parlor! Be sure to get your kids signed up, and then enjoy some of the fun activities we have planned!
